3. What do Support Coordinators do?
General speaking, Support Coordinators (SC) assist and/or support you or your child to:

Understand your NDIS budget

Set up your initial bookings and service agreements with your providers

Access the support services and/ or community supports that you need and want

Connect with appropriate supports and community networks (education, health, justice, social services…)

Develop independence and practical skills

Support you to avoid and resolve crises.

SC can assist you to budget you or your child’s NDIS fund and implement your or your child NDIS plan by working with you or your child to:

Develop your confidence, skills and knowledge to manage and monitor your own NDIS plan budget.

Teach you to access and use the NDIS portal, so you can use it to access your NDIS information.

Build your understanding of the NDIS price guide, so you can learn about the cost of NDIS regularly review your NDIS plan.

Work with your service providers regarding referrals.

Assist you to identify barriers and resolve problems.

Report to the NDIS regarding the implementation of your plan at eight weeks and prior to your plan ending.

1. What is Support Coordination?
Support coordination is capacity building support. Its objective is to assist participants in accessing support services. In particular, this service may assist NDIS participants to understand their NDIS plan and use it to support their goals. Support coordinator (CS) will assess and support participants’ needs and connect them with other provider and other services to support participant to achieve their goals. Also SC may build participants' skills and confidence in navigating the NDIS support system.
2. What are the benefits of Support Coordination?
As a NDIS participant, you or your child need a lot of support in different aspects. Support coordination can assist you build lifelong networks, independence skills, and connections to support services to support you or your child become and remain independent. It is particularly useful during periods of transition in your life such as starting school, moving your accommodation, studying or working or moving to a new home or area.
4. Who can access Support Coordination?
Most NDIS participants who people living with disability, mental health or who simply need extra help due to age, illness or injury, Our Support Coordinator can assist you to request to access this service including in your NDIS plan.
